My Big Back Yard

My new favorite place in Memphis is the play area (aka: My Big Backyard) at the Botanical Gardens. Mose is the one who first introduced me to all this fun, and then I had to share it with my buddy Harry.

Leigh's Visit

Mommy's friend Leigh came to visit last week, and we found several very fun things to do. And don't worry, we took her to get BBQ too, but she agrees with Mommy that NC BBQ is better!

First we went to the Stax Museum.
It was so much fun, with all my favorite music playing.
There was an entire display for Sam Cooke, who I love!

Here I am on the Soul Train Dance floor.
Yes it is an original section from the show!

This shot shows that on the screen they have a constant running loop of dancers and music, it was awesome!

Getting my groove on!

Waiting at the Peabody Hotel to see the ducks. But we didn't get a picture, they moved to fast. One minute it was this, and then .....

The duck master's back (that's the guy in the red jacket) the ducks ran down the red carpet from the elevator to the fountain. Mommy says she's never seen ducks move that fast.

I was very excited that they were Mallards,
but I was hoping for a Mommy duck with some babies.

After they all ran past you could go up to the fountain and visit them.
The black thing next to me is their stairs they use to get in and out of the fountain every day.

Now I am sad that Leigh went home, she likes to read me lots of books, and I certainly don't mind all the fun things we do when people come to visit.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day, just a mere 5 days later, but what a difference! It was 65 and sunny, and I was all dressed for the part. But lest you think there was a new man in my life let me make it perfectly clear ....

Mr. Bear is still my main squeeze!

Well, and maybe Mommy :)

Snow Day

We had another pile of snow, just in time for Mommy's birthday! It also happened to be the same day as the UNC vs. Duke game. So I made sure to dress appropriately.

The right sweatshirt, pants!, and boots.

Making Snow Angels

Daddy trying to be a bit more excited about the snow!

New Year & Resolutions

Welcome back! To me anyway :) I have been very busy since moving to Memphis in October and mommy says that she has a resolution to do better about posting to the blog, whatever that means.
So brace yourself, here comes a recap.

My first day of school at Buntyn.

Picking out Pumpkins for Halloween.

Dressed up as a fairy for Halloween.

Trying to turn daddy into a prince!

Flying to Gramma's for Thanksgiving. My first plane trip, and I was a champ!

I studied the safety card very thoroughly, giving it a good 20 minutes or so.

I got to go into the cockpit and meet the captain after the flight.
He even let me try on his hat.

After Thanksgiving it finally got cold, and Mommy MADE me wear pants! Trust me, I was not happy about this, and it didn't last long. I have worn them 3-4 more times, but mostly for snow.

Cupcakes for my birthday.
Same recipe from my 1st birthday, but much prettier this time!

Sampling the icing with Gramma, just to make sure it was O.K.

My favorite present was my new princess dress.
I have worn it for part of every day since.

Getting ready to blow out my candle.

Annual birthday photo shoot, only I wasn't interested in smiling. (see below)

Time for Christmas!

Digging down deep to see what Mrs. Claus brought me.
I am too afraid of Santa for him to come to our house, so she came instead. Wasn't that nice?

Checking daddy out in my new M.D. outfit.
Though I like it better when worn over my princess dress.

In January we have had lots of snow!
I love to play in it, so I will put on pants for this.

My first Snowman.

So that sums up the last few months. Since the latest snow we have moved again (thanks to something living in the attic that we didn't invite), and are getting settled (again)! I can't wait for spring when I can really get some mileage out of my back yard swing and ride my bike on the sidewalk out front! Oh yeah, and that's when my baby brother is supposed to come.
